What does a 63-year-old TV Shopping/Infomercial host who’s also a singer/songwriter, author and ukulele player do when he wants to share his views with “the world?” Like 10’s of millions of other people around the globe, he starts a blog.  This is #1,  so I better make it count.

I’ve been “blogging” on Facebook for years. With over 1500 “friends” there, it’s been a nice exchange of ideas. But I’m hopeful that this forum will reach more a lot more people than my limited universe there.

I’m writing a lot of songs lately. I’ve had some success in this field, writing jingles and city songs during my time as an advertising creative director in the 1980’s.  Here’s the YouTube link to one of my latest:

While I have no illusion of joining the ranks of superstar songwriters in the musical world, I believe I have a unique perspective. For example, there have been a lot of songs written with the title “Old Enough to Know Better,” but most of them were written by 20 and 30 somethings. What the hell do they know about it. Mine is a perspective over 6 decades in the making.

As a ukulele enthusiast, I am very passionate about the instrument. I joined a ukulele club here in Northern California with over 600 members. I am going to a ukulele convention in Reno, Nevada in a few weeks that will have tens of thousands of attendees. And most ukulele fans are 40 plus. This makes them a perfect product for TV shopping and I am currently pursuing that idea. I’m excited to see where that goes.  This is the YouTube link to a ukulele performance:

Thank you for checking out my first blog. I should be adding to this several times each week with observations about life and the world around me.  I wish you good health and success!
