“There’s just one God in Heaven,
But we call him different names…”
That’s the opening couplet for my new song, Just One. It’s a song of peace and hope. And while I don’t hear that many meaningful songs on the radio these days, it’s a song I had to write and produce. I’m pitching it to artists and record companies in Nashville now.
It’s the best song I’ve written to date, both lyrically and melodically. I wrote it in the Summer of 2020, when it seemed like the whole country was on fire and coming apart at the seams. As we always do, we survived, bruised, battered and hopefully a bit wiser.
This song expresses a sentiment that I hope the world will embrace. The concepts of brotherhood and acceptance expressed in the song – “Just one kind of people, many faces, all the same” – are necessary so that people can continue to grow and thrive.
The song hit number one on the Soundclick Country Charts in less than one day, out of over 70,000 songs! While I’ve had several number one songs on various Soundclick charts, I never had one climb to the top spot this fast. As soon as I know which artist will record this, and I am positive that will happen, I will post the results on this blog.
Thank you for listening and for your ongoing support! God bless you all!
Way to go, Steve – happy for you
That’s awesome. Congratulations
